Therapeutic Riding at Osceola Heritage Park We offer weekly therapeutic riding lessons at our stable located at Osceola Heritage Park. All lessons are facilitated by a NARHA certified riding instructor who is assisted by numerous volunteers. Lessons are geared to help riders work on a variety of skills including balance, focus, coordination, flexibility, and muscular strength. Lessons involve a variety of games, grooming, and riding. Visit out calendar to learn more about our class schedule and special events. We offer field trips to our stable for exceptional education students. These exciting and safe field trips provide special children the opportunity to meet, groom, bathe, and interact with our therapeutic horses. Participants learn about responsibilities related to the care of animals, job opportunities in traditional stables, and fun facts about horses. Sunny Side Rides In partnership with local children’s homes, Heavenly Hoofs facilitates riding programs for at risk youth designed to provide comfort, build confidence, and develop riding and interpersonal skills. This program is designed to respond to children during a time of crisis. Heavenly Hoofs transports a miniature pony to children’s hospitals and other various locations to serve children in need. Coming Soon Hippotherapy Horses work in tandem with medical professionals in the areas of occupational, physical, and speech therapy. All hippotherapy sessions are conducted at the direction of a physician’s prescription and are intended to improve medical conditions. Horse and Carriage Driving The driving program is designed to give wheelchair bound children the opportunity to experience an equine assisted activity without actually mounting the horse. Equine Assisted Mental Health Horses work in tandem with psychiatrists, psychologists, and mental health counselors to provide mental health therapies.
